THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A
* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR…
SOUTHWESTERN COLLIER COUNTY IN SOUTHWESTERN FLORIDA…
* UNTIL 215 PM EST
* AT 1117 AM EST…DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED PERSISTENT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. HEAVY RAINFALL FROM THE STORMS WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING ACROSS COASTAL COLLIER COUNTY. BETWEEN 1 AND 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN…WITH ADDITIONAL RAINFALL RESULTING IN RAPID RUNOFF AND FLOODING.
* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE…
NAPLES…MARCO ISLAND…GOLDEN GATE ESTATES…NAPLES

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN AREAS…HIGHWAYS…STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER POOR DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES.
